Background

Gran Duque de Alba Brandy sought to establish a digital presence in the U.S. and Germany. We modernized the brand’s image with bold colors and quirky perspectives.

Rooted in tradition since 1945, Gran Duque de Alba is one of Spain’s top Gran Reserva brandies, distinguished by its aging in oak casks previously used for sherry. However, its image needed a modern twist to resonate with today’s adventurous premium consumers. Our goal was to future-proof the brand while preserving its heritage.

In 2022, Chelsea & Co launched a comprehensive digital transformation, introducing a fresh look and innovative ways to enjoy this prestigious Brandy de Jerez. Today, GDA resonates with a new generation by embracing cocktail culture while showcasing its Spanish origins. In 2025, we created three distinct characters for the GDA trio, inviting consumers to explore different sides of themselves—and change their perspective on brandy:

🔴 Indulgent GDA: Bold, mischievous, and always in the spotlight.
🔵 Enigmatic XO: Mysterious, refined, and full of intrigue.
🟡 Opulent ORO: Decadent, unapologetic, and absolutely fabulous.

The digital transformation led to remarkable outcomes. GDA witnessed a 30% increase in online engagement and a 20% growth in social media followers within six months. The brand successfully connected with younger audiences while retaining its loyal customer base.

We created a digital style guide to ensure consistent branding across platforms. We adapted the logo for digital responsiveness and created a fresh brand voice that balances GDA’s rich heritage with a vibrant, witty, and playful tone. We called it “elegant with an edge.”

A Bold New Look

In the digital age, visuals are everything. We created a scroll-stopping identity and content strategy that plays with movement, perspectives, and the colourful GDA characters. Striking—and sometimes surreal—animations cut through to brighten the traditionally dark world of Brandy de Jerez. Think: a crème brûlée being torched, pressing play on a David Bowie cassette, and cocktails poured upside down.

New Perspectives

Think you know brandy? Think again! Our storytelling strategy brought GDA’s heritage, unique aging process, and consumption possibilities to life with dynamic multimedia visuals—reels, animated carousels, motion graphics, quirky cocktail infographics, witty animations, and even AI resurrections of the Duque himself.
