UK Social Media Strategy
We collaborated with D.O. Rueda to enhance their social media presence in the UK market, with a focus on reaching lifestyle-oriented women aged 25-54.
Our objective was to position D.O. Rueda wines, particularly their renowned Verdejo, as the preferred choice for social occasions. We aimed to build brand awareness and customer loyalty while directing traffic to specific retailers.
By leveraging Instagram, we adapted D.O. Rueda’s global brand guidelines to resonate effectively with UK consumers. Our strategy for both paid and organic content resulted in a significant increase of reach and engagement.
We developed a social strategy centered on elevating support for local UK importers of Rueda wines and the stores that sell them. We aimed to humanise the D.O. Rueda brand, cutting through traditional wine marketing noise by creating engaging content including innovative food pairings, approachable educational content & a focus on local events.
The content strategy focused on three main content pillars:Â
Lifestyle and Social Gatherings: showcasing the aspirational and jovial nature of Rueda Verdejo wines
Wines: featuring a selection of brands, demystified labels, and an exploration of the life cycle of the vineyards and viticultureÂ
Where to Buy: Purposefully crafted designs to showcased selected labels through dedicated posts and stories, driving traffic to UK-based points of purchase. Customized GIPHYS and graphics added a unique and engaging touch.Â
Key tactics involved creating lifestyle-focused and locally relevant content, interactive posts, and collaborations. Paid campaigns targeted specific demographics and interests to ensure effective reach and engagement. This multifaceted approach aimed to increase brand visibility, engagement, and followers while driving traffic to purchase points.
We designed a social playbook that aligned with the global brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all channels. This playbook provided comprehensive guidance on content creation, conversation management, paid campaigns, and KPI measurement. It included specific terminologies on presenting the labels and design guidelines, which we adapted for various platforms to elegantly represent the brand while appealing to the UK audience.
Reels played a crucial role in our strategy, capturing the lively spirit of D.O. Rueda wines. These short, engaging videos showcased the joy of social gatherings and the refreshing nature of the wines.
